WHY Would I Want To Work With My Ancestors Anyway?

A lot of troubles people today have in their lives can be directly traced to their non-relationship with their ancestors. Often when I ask someone, “Do you ever pray to your ancestors?” Most of the time, these sad individuals give me the most horrible attitudes with replies such as, “Oh no, Moloch, I can’t stand my family! They’ve never loved me, they’ve always done X and Y and Z and I do not want anything to do with them especially now that they’re dead!” Wow...

Yet these same people who seek my assistance out for help in their lives, often blame black magic and curses cast by others whom they cannot prove but they just ‘suspect’ ___ with nary a shred of proof. Sometimes these seekers are actual magical practitioners who seem to be able to get some spells to succeed but like for every step forward they take, they take two step backwards. So what’s the real problem here concerning one’s ancestors? Sometimes it just one simple thing, pride while other times it’s a sense of dread and loathing.

Look, no family is perfect. None. Some families appear better on the outside but when you get to know folks who are part of that family often you find chinks in the armor that are downright scary. Parents who have totalitarian attitudes or are heavy handed with the belt when it comes to discipline. Sometimes there’s sexual abuse even by blood parents, uncles, aunts and even siblings that can go on for years if left un-spoken.

However even if your family flat out SUCKED (and many simply do!) they are not the only ancestors you are acknowledging. Did you get that? Allow me to repeat it because it is vitally important that you understand this: when you salute your ancestors, you are not merely acknowledging your deceased family’s line but all of the ancestors going back to the beginning of humanity. Now let that sink in for a moment because it is imperative you make this connection.

What Can My Ancestors Do For Me Anyhow?

Ah now we come to the real reason you’re here, the old “What’s in it for me?” or W.I.I.F.M. This is a poor attitude to harbor where spiritual matters are concerned but oddly enough, more people seem to have WIIFM as they progress forward in their life. Time was folks took matters on faith and simply did what a priest told them to, even a Pagan one, but today it’s a different climate and everyone wants to know how they can benefit from doing something for nothing.

First off let’s ask, “Why should your ancestors give a damn about you?” (How’s that for a turnabout?) In truth they care about you in the way a parent cares about their own children. Do you have kids? Do you care about them? Now do you REALLY care about them or do you just tolerate them until you can kick them out the door when they turn 18? Be honest about it because it matters.

The vast majority of the dead and ancestors care about the living because they see us as their children - we are their descendants - even the ones who weren’t able to have kids because they still care about us. Why? They want to see humanity travel on into the future in positive ways rather than continue on the destructive paths so many are already on. Is that really too much to ask? I do not think it is. After all, wouldn't we all like to think that our kids and their kids are going to grow up to eventually revolutionize and change the world?

As a practitioner, you should want to no more upset the ancestors as you would any group of spirits be they demons, angels, djinns or whatever they are. The ancestors are closest to us because they are directly related to us whereas all other spirits are not and when they have no vested interest, then their work can always have that bit of suspect bit about it. When you begin to summon your ancestors, however, rest assured they will most definitely be in attendance.

Okay on a practical level, your ancestors can do virtually anything  you ask them to do. What does that mean? A lot! No seriously, my ancestors have helped me in ways I never imagined. You know how sometimes those situations arise where you haven’t even asked for any magical help and yet your desire came anyway? That was the ancestors.

Typically what they do is to smooth out the (figurative) road we travel in life by filling in some of the rougher holes and helping to steer us around the pitfalls and snares that at first seemed unavoidable but in the end we managed to avoid a bullet so to speak. That’s the ancestors. Most of the time their work is behind the scenes in subtle ways. You know that little voice in the back of your head that forewarns you about not getting in that cab which later was involved in an accident? That’s the ancestors.

The stronger your bond to your ancestors, the stronger their influence will be in your life. No this does not mean that your aunt Aggie’s will be nosing into your life in the afterlife like she did in life. Rather what it does means is that they will take more interest in wanting to assist you in both your sorcery and protecting your personal interests as well as your overall well being. So you should want to create an extra strong bond with them and maintain it indefinitely.

These Horror Stories Are Real

A lot of people have really horrid lives out there. So many of us live rather normal, drab, routine even everday lives with problems that we see as insurmountable we cannot fathom anything worse even though many go through worse than hell.

One does not have to look any further than pop culture fiction to see tv shows and movies where seemingly everyday people are portrayed as monsters. To us we’re glad it’s just a movie or tv show because in that 22 or 44 minutes of story time, the show took our imagination to a level of horror and then decompressed it by allowing the good guys to come in, capture the bad guy and save the day. In real life however, this almost never happens. The horrors portrayed in fictional families is never anywhere near the level of cruelty found in real life because network censors refuse to allow such to be shown on televison.

Since hanging out my shingle to practice sorcery to the general public in 2000, I have heard some personal accounts of human cruelty committed upon one another that have disturbed me to the point they’ve caused me no few sleepless nights. I had a young lady I counseled whose own biological father repeatedly raped her as a child beginning at the age of eight while her mother was at work. As a father myself when I first heard this woman recount this horrid time of her youth to me, I couldn’t help but cry for her. It staggered my mind. Revulsion? Anger? Frustration? Yes I felt all this and more just from hearing this. Or the man whose own biological uncle repeatedly raped him in his own bed while his parents sat downstairs watching television totally oblivious to the horror that was happening to their only son upstairs in bed.

Perhaps now you can see why so many people are hesitant or even antagonistic to working with their ancestors. Remember however, the worst is never what you hear, rather it’s what becomes uncovered later that is the worse.

The First Ancestors

The concept of the ancestors is greater in scope and scale than merely one’s biological family. We’re talking the entirety of human kind going back to our first genetic roots of consciousness. Back when Eve, the primate who many archaeologists believe is the mother of modern human kind first stood upright millions of years ago in Africa. That Eve begat our earliest ancestors, according to modern archaeologists, is significant and from her we have our earliest stirrings in human evolution. Just realize that the ancestors is not only about biology but also about human kind as a whole as well.

Further, there are ancestors in your family line that you never knew about nor known. Some of them were willing participants along the way having married from one tribe to another along the way in time while others were not so willing perhaps having been kidnaped or impregnated against their will.  However it happened, your family history is far deeper and more complex than what goes back to your parent’s parents genetics.

But I Was Adopted!

Beyond this, we also have the fact that a portion of our population have grown up with no parents. A number of these people were adopted into existing families. What this does is create not just one set of ancestors but now two sets of ancestors in the sense of one are biological who are related via blood and the other are related through adoption.

Reconcile and Exclude

I know I have not walked in your shoes and have no right to urge you to reconcile with your biological family’s ancestors, however as I’ve pointed, there are a couple of good, solid reasons WHY you should consider making peace with your ancestors. First is that not everyone in your family's ancestry did you harm. Even if say your parents and siblings were all shitheads, that doesn't mean their parents and their parents and so on as well as the plethora of uncles, aunts and cousins all did you wrong or wished you ill. Thus blaming your entire biological family for the sins of one or a few is not even close to fair.

The second reason you want to reconcile with them is you will have them at your back and when you’re wanting to practice a dangerous art like sorcery, it is necessary to have all of the precautions in place that you can. The world of the occult is not wholly safe and anyone who says otherwise is a lunatic. There are legitimate perils that need to be avoided and ones ancestors can assist in this.

Another reason is that your ancestors are not composed entirely of just your immediate family because you have far more family members in your family’s line than you will ever fully realize. There may be half-siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, step-parents and so on who care about and love you. Give them a chance to help you become more and realize your dreams and aspirations. Open yourself to the possibilities that your family is much larger than that small genetic code that simply follows your mother and father's DNA code.

Further you have all of the ancestors of humanity on your side and they count as well towards your well being. Isn’t it time you give them a chance as well? Still here’s a little secret: if someone in your biological ancestry was hateful to you, then nothing says you have to honor them in death. You can choose to omit them from your ancestral shrine if that is your wish and no one else has the right to tell you otherwise. It is your shrine to use to interact with your ancestors so do so at your discretion.

When I work with my family ancestors, I have a litany of names I like recite. You too can do the same thing and say if you have an uncle Jim who was a scumbag you want no part of, then omit Jim's name entirely. If it pleases you, when you first set up your ancestral shrine, you can mention the fact that uncle Jim is not welcome at your family shrine. For some folks, this small act gives them a sense of justice that allows them to work with their biological ancestors without impediment.

So the really big question comes in as will you ask your ancestors to come into your home and be welcome at your shrine?

(Yet Again) Commentary on the Slater Necronomicon

In the Solomonic FB group, Aaron Leitch posted a well written article about the so-called Simon Necronomicon and its parts and how they relate to actual magical practice. This is an excellent post and I believe he first posted this on his own blog so you may find it there.

The biggest hurdle with the Necronomicon is not the book itself nor is it the allegations from Lovecraft who used it as a plot device in his short stories but rather the knee jerk reactions the book's name brings from the wannabes who pretend to be actual magicKians. You know those types: the new age nutcases who MUST save everyone from themselves. "You're misinformed! I must educate you so that you do not harm your karma! There is no Necronomicon. Lovecraft made it up." Tape a nickel to the needle cuz you repeat yourself so much, you're stuck in a groove.

Let’s get one thing straight here & now: there never was a Necronomicon as Lovecraft described it. None. I have looked far and wide and spent a considerable sum of money hunting it. IF Lovecraft’s version were truly REAL, I’d have uncovered it. But Lovecraft never made one and alluded to it so well that hordes of fans of his writings have often wondered if the old codger was hinting at something. No. Pure imagination is all.

Now with that said, is there a Necronomicon today? Yes. Herman Slater financed and published it from his old Warlock Shop out of New York back in the 1970's. Allegedly some guy named Peter Lavenda (which I don’t believe is his real name), aka ‘Simon’, (note Biblical reference here to Simon-Peter) and then later some other guy came forward a few years ago claiming he did all the art & sigils for it. Sure okay whatever dude. I highly doubt these guys ever had a hand in this at all knowing the shenanigans that Herman Slater would go to make a buck.

Now is Slater’s Necronomicon the same as Lovecraft’s? Not anywhere close. *smirk* Let’s put it this way, Slater and company SUCK at writing fictitious grimoires. There were hacks that wrote grimoires in the Medeival and Renaissance periods but this "Lavenda" guy sucks worse than a bad Ed Wood film. Today he likes to claim even more about the book now that Herman Slater is dead and no longer around to refute anything claimed. Thus I take whatever Lavenda has to say with an enormous lump of salt.

Okay all of that jazz aside, is the Slater Necronomicon any good? I have used it in a magical setting back in my early years when I performed a number of experiments primarily with Humwawa seal to crush and enemy and numerous experiments with the 50 Names of Marduk. My mentor at the time, Ron Parshley chuckled when I told him what I was doing but said it couldn’t hurt. He knew Slater personally and had his own copy of the Slater Nec in his library. Ron thought the whole thing a cute piece of pastiche.

Interestingly enough, Ron was NOT surprised to find my experiments worked. He used to say, “Any system will work if it is consistent within and of itself”. So I even taught a few friends how to use it and they got results too. One friend used the seals to remove a very dangerous gang who were trying to recruit her son. Shortly thereafter the gang member was found in his own bedroom hanging by his belt from the ceiling.

Aaron Leitch, Jake Stratton-Kent, Jason Miller & several other notable practitioners, along with myself, have publicly admitted in the Solomonic group to experimenting with the Slater Nec and getting results from it. Further we know there are many times that number out there who have interesting anecdotes regarding their own experiments with the book from years past as well as today. The trouble with discussing these anecdotes is that too many self-righteous magicKians get all indignant over the discussion and post-bomb the thread with all sorts of inane garbage just so folks will give up on the thread. Not much different than born-again Xians who when they don't like something will do the exact same thing these Ceremonial Wannabes will do to disrupt discussions.

So the first thing anyone should look at is the sheer amount of people who were first introduced to the Slater Nec and experimented with it. Many got their first start this way and that is NOT bad at all. There are worse ways to come into Sorcery than via the Slater Nec. (You could waste your time with northern California Hippie Hoodoo garbage!) A number of folks who have used the Slater Nec have gone on from that starting point to delve deeply into other grimoires and systems of Sorcery and Magic with much success. Perhaps there's the rub with the Ceremonial Wannbes? Makes you wonder, eh?

The next thing we need to note is that regardless of how you feel about the Slater Nec, it is still one of the top selling Occult books out there on the market today. In today's world, however, I’d say it’s one of the most downloaded Occult books there is. The other top selling Occult book is Anton LaVey’s Satanic Bible both of which I think are published by Avon press (not the cosmetics firm).

It is not merely teenagers who have tried their hands at Sorcery via the Slater Nec as a first time go, but plenty of adults have also used the Slater Nec for various and sundry purposes. Why? Well for many years the grimoires of the Medieval/Renaissance period were nigh near impossible to lay hands on unless you lived near the British Museum or the French Louvre where the vast majority of the originals are held.

Some of the grimoires you could get from places like deLaurance company but egads he screwed around with the grimoires to make it as if HE translated them then sold them to the public for very steep prices in a time when the Great Depression all but made people eat wood to survive. Today though with digital formatting and storage as well as Internet thieves and downloading, virtually all of the Medieval/Renn grimoires are available free. Oh sure there’s guys like Joe Peterson who has found a way to make $$$$ for these books on his site and a DVD or his *cough, cough* “translations” via Amazon (of all his grimoire copies, get your hands on his _Sixth & Seventh Books of Moses_ because it’s best edition bar none!)

The Slater Nec, after Avon bought the rights from Slater, produced the book into a mass market paperback for under $10 and THIS is why so many people, kids/adults/whoever, started with this book first prior to digital technology. Why try to ransom your kids for the money to buy a copy of the True Grimoire when you can get this Necronomicon for $5 sitting right here on the shelf at B&N? It looks scary, has sigils, has barbarous names, incantations, seals, instructions and so on.

I consider the Slater Nec to be “Sorcery Lite” like Lite Beer is? Less filing and all that. However when one discovers that there are other books of Sorcery out there to delve into that are kick ass and have Spirits like Khil, Surgat, Orobas and Lucifuge Rofocale, why the hell would you want to stay with the Slater Nec for?

But see your average Ceremonial Wannabe is only interested in being RIGHT about what they’re  saying. They care naught for anything but that “I’m right, you’re wrong!” and thankfully there are a core group of advanced practitioners who have moved beyond that nonsense but still have fond memories of doing some sort of Magic from the Slater Nec, Satanic Bible, and other early books of Witchery & Sorcery.

The Ceremonial Wannabes will dick around talking about making tools, or today taking photos of their tools & altars and posting them on Fecesbook, but when you ask them to share an anecdote from their so-called “great work” *snort!* they stammer and steam up almost infuriated that you would dare to ask them such a question! In my opinion, Ceremonial Wannabes like this are frustrated crafts makers. They love to craft things but cannot sell them so they turn to the Occult and well...

Many are also self-righteous assholes who have spent a lot of time in groups like the Golden Dawn or OTO and have this snotty attitude that the only way is the RIGHT way which is (obviously) THEIR way. Pfffft! They’re just little boys playing a fantasy role playing game pretending they are doing magic. Most of them can quote you page & verse from old historical & grimoiric texts but do any of these wannabes have any balls? None that I have seen as of yet thus talk is cheap, boys. Quote anyone you wish but that does not make you wise. Only experience can give you wisdom. If intelligence were the sole key to Sorcery & Magic, then only intellectuals could get results and we know that just. Ain't. So.

One thing I’d like to mention is that Aaron Leitch in his commentary about the Slater Nec said, “But it is the product of an imaginative distortion of ancient materials by a modern individual.” Correct and not unlike the Golden Dawn, Ordo Templi Orientis and other so-called MagicKal Lodges. I see no difference there at all. Gods know those half-wits have taken ancient materials and used imaginative distortions. Funny how no one calls them on the carpet for it.

So there you have it, the book, the naysayers and why the book is not all that bad nor should it be so eschewed as if it is some sort of plague. I don’t care if you’re a Ceremonial Wannabe, McWiccan or serious practitioner of any stripe, the book is okay as a jumping off point but there are far better works out there to experiment with.

The truly sad part is that so many have the knee jerk reactions to the book’s name that all they want to do is shout, “There is no Necronomicon” when in fact there is. Only an abject moron would say otherwise.

Uncrossing As A Prelude to Spiritual and Medical Healing

Healing is a term that's often tossed around by everyone these days with good reason since it costs an arm and a leg to get actualy healing assistance from the professional medical community. Typically if you don't have insurance, you are S-C-R-E-W-E-D and go without medical help. Many folks try to get help from Welfare or at the least a free clinic but due to government cut backs, those 'free' clinics are rare these days. So really is it any wonder people run off to alternative therapies no matter how crazy, weird or strange they are? Even the Amish community spends exhorbitant amounts of money on Cancer centers or they travel to Mexico or Canada seeking things like Essiac or the Hoxley herbal formula.

Like it or not, our society and primarily the medical and insurance communities have created this need for alternative therapy themselves through the ridiculous costs of medical treatment and supplies. $16 USD for a bandage that would cost you less than one dollar at a pharmacy? Seriously? Yet these same greedy pricks have the unmitigated nerve to force people to seek out alternative treatments and then do their damnedest to ridicule, oppose and even utilize violence to eradicate those alternative therapies.

One thing I can tell you that I found that actually works is Radionics. I've experimented using Radionics on a LOT of test subjects over the years including myself. One case involved a client who being diabetic had an ulcer on their foot and it got infected with staph and a couple of other nasty things. They had to go into the hospital for a five week stay with intravenous antibiotics being pumped into them. They then had a podiatrist surgically remove the ulcer and some of the bone in the foot where the infection had spread. I used my own home brewed Radionic instrument to work on the individual. The patient's physician said it would take approximately 24-36 mos to heal since the subject is diabetic. The wound healed in less than 11 weeks. And I did nothing else other than use Radionics on the person.

Okay that's not entirely accurate that I only used Radionics because I also performed an Uncrossing ritual on the subject ahead of time to remove whatever was causing all of this crap to be removed from them. As a Sorcerer, I cannot give that ritual more credence and praise as the BEST thing anyone can and should do on a regular, consistent basis.

Think of Uncrossing as pre-ritual preparation. You know how CM's suggest taking a pre-ritual bath to remove the muck & mire and purify oneself prior to summoning a Spirit? Well think of the Uncrossing ritual as far more in depth than merely washign the surface. The Uncrossing rite goes to the deepest parts of the soul to dredge up the mire of psychic filth that we tend to accumulate over our lifetime. What is this muck you ask? Prejudices, reservations, worries, doubts, fears, annoyances, irritations all rolled into a miasma of darkness that lies in the bottom of our core being. We often don't think about this simply because we have accustomed ourselves to ignoring it so it lies there and accumulates this sort of negative stuff like a septic tank does sludge.

Like a septic tank, eventually the psychic sludge that is within us needs to be pumped out and removed. Banishment procedures are not enough alone. That is because banishment rites touch on the surface of day to day trials and tribulations but those things that affect us in such a negative fashion accumulates and residue sticks with us. This residue must be purged from us from time to time to allow our personal healing to take effect. If you simply think you can banish this stuff then you're oh so wrong. This residue is at your being's root core and the memories are stuck deep inside you. These memories come in loud and clear with full visual imagery in crystal clear colors and perfect reception. In fact they stay with us as loops or tapes that we occasionally torture ourselves with in the form of regrets.

Uncrossing is not something that comes overnight. In fact, it may take several applications of this ritual to remove all of the negative miasma that floats around in your core being. Why? Well like losing weight you simply cannot lose 20 # overnight because it took you a long time to accumulate that weight thus it will take you as long if not longer to remove it in a healthy manner.

Many people think of Uncrossing as banishment and that is only partly right. Uncrossing is a poly ritual that has three specific components to it:

1. Banishment
2. Healing
3. Protection

When you remove or omit anyone of these three components, it is no longer an Uncrossing ritual.

An Uncrossing ritual is NOT the same as a Jinx Removing ritual even though I have heard Hoodoo's say they are one and the same thing. This is yet another example of how dangerous a little knowledge is. Jinx Removing is about removing bad luck or a jinx, i.e. a minor curse, that someone may have put on you to cause you temporary problems. Whereas an Uncrossing encompasses so much more than just removal of bad luck. In fact, the Uncrossing addresses ALL that negatively affects a person, not just their luck. The majority of problems that Uncrossing affects is concerned with self-imposed guilt, doubts, worries, fears and the like. Of course not everything collected by the soul was put there by the victim because what authority figures said to the victim as a child or anything someone says that is even off color can have a negative impact on one's self-esteem, confidence, faith and belief in themselves.

Thus if you wish to amplify your chances of success with either Metaphysical or professional medical healing, you really should consider performing an Uncrossing on yourself or the victim. Yes you can perform an Uncrossing rite on someone else whether they are a loved, friend, acquaintance, co-worker, boss or whoever. No you do not need their permission because you are not doing anything that could negatively affect them. At worst your ritual will help them by removing veils that block their sight or vision from what is really going on. This will help them to see things in a better light and more clearly thus allowing themselves to make decisions that will have impact on their lives. In a way it is no different than if you were to take the person aside and through careful questioning you could lead them to see things as they truly are.

Oftentimes such direct counseling does not work because the individual would consider you to be 'meddling' in their affairs where their business is not your business. With the Uncrossing ritual you can remove the veils that obscure their vision to allow them to see things as they are and not through the layers of filters they have applied. Thus you an perform an Uncrossing on someone even at a distance to assist them.

I'm often asked, "Are there negative side effects to Uncrossings?" and the answer is yes. What happens is that an Uncrossing goes deep to the core root of the victim and begins to act like Dawn dish washing liquid in how it separates the grease which in turn can be rinsed away. Uncrossing rituals have deep impact and often their effects will be felt for weeks afterwards as lots of thoughts and things that were buried (not truly) by the victim surface so they can be dealt with. Often this includes emotional vampires who prey upon others and these people eventually fall by the wayside (rinsed away).

Before you can banish something you must first bring it to the surface and deal with it. This is where Uncrossing can really help by purging the muck from deep within and then you apply the healing to the core being and finally add several layers of protection to keep the affliction from returning.

Depending on how deep the crossed condition plaguing the victim is will affect how often the Uncrossing must be performed on the individual. The longest series of Uncrossing rituals I've worked with are 21 days. Then I let things sit for a week and start another 21 day Uncrossing period. Some things may take several months of this to be truly purged. Yes this is not a panacea of overnight success although many minor things may be purged overnight from the individual such as a jinx or dealing with unlucky situation at work.

You may also be pleasantly surprised that the more often you Uncross, the healthier you'll feel. No it will not guarantee you never get sick but I have seen how seldom I get a cold, the flu or sore throat. And as the Jews are wont to say about chicken soup, "It can't hurt!"

The Master Book of Prayer - Using Xian Prayers When You're Not Xian

Most Hoodoo booklets are incomplete because they do not teach you what you need to know to get your own JuJu to work. They suggest an oil & a candle & that's it. Ugh. Might as well say, “There is the car but you’re gonna need to fuel it up” while it’s sitting without a drop of gas in the tank. Lovely. The so-called "Hoodoo experts" out there who feel all you need to use is just a Psalm when doing any Sorcery. Well I'm here to tell you that they don't know what they're talking about.

Real JuJu requires more than concentration or to simply take someone's underwear & bury it in a cemetery. Those old tricks are quaint but you rarely can get other people's dirty underwear these days. (Pray tell HOW are you going to get the underwear of a judge who will preside over a court case you're involved in???)

Sorcery requires verbalization - you have to instruct the forces of Sorcery as to what it is you desire. Do you expect real Spirits to read your mind? A couple may be able to do that but not all of them can and those that ‘can’ aren’t always 100% accurate at it.

Christian Prayers

Yes, yes, yes these ARE Xian prayers in The Master Book of Prayer (MBoP for short) booklet and you need to remember that many of them have older, pagan origins. Why else would the ancient church fathers use them for their own purposes? Maybe because they work?

Many of you are on a quest to get to older source material hoping to find Sorcery that actually works without all of the New Age community’s nonsense. Bah. If you want simplicity, then use the prayers in the Master Book of Prayer.

I first experimented with using Xian prayers back in 1987 when I got my first Wiccan candle burning book. My first candle spell was a spell of prosperity. I used the Psalm instead of the Pagan invocation as listed. Why? Well I was raised in a very religious family whose beliefs ran from Baptist, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Methodist, Open Bible, Roman Catholic, and so on (a real Heinz 57 varieties lemme tell you!) I didn't understand Paganism all that well with that first spell however the spell worked quite well so I was very pleased with it.

Again, too many of you reading this are so wrapped up in being opposed to Xianity that you would throw out the baby with the bath water! Hey, that's your prerogative! But a number of you have also written to me to say, "Gee Moloch, I have X going on & what I've done thus far didn't do squat for me! So what do I do?"

With some of you I've had to explain WHY Xian prayers work & that's because they're based on OLDER pagan rites & prayers. Don't think that the church merely took land from pagans to build their cathedrals over. Hell they stole myths, legends, rituals & invocations which they changed to suit their own needs needs & interests.

The church elders also left out the correct use of these prayers & invocations so the laity would be unable to use them for themselves! BUT with this prayer book, you can learn to use these prayers with awesome effect. Pagan, Wiccan, McWiccan or not, you should get a copy of this booklet to use in your practices - that is IF you want serious results & not just simple make believe.

The MBoP is a rare booklet in that it gives you a tremendous secret about correctly using Xian prayers and it also tells you the various names of power to use when making your prayer. This is something Hoodoo booklets & authors do not bother with. Why? Because they're ignorant of this aspect. They are simply parrots parroting other parrots who parroted yet more parroting form older parrots. It never ends.

To those of you reading this who are Christian, when I type & use the X in place of 'Christ' e.g.Xian, that is not a slap in the face nor removing the Christ form the term. It is a form of short hand used by the old church in the early centuries. The X is a Greek shorthand which means Christ so it's okay to use either "Christian" or "Xian" without any disrespect to the Christ. Just FYI.

Miracle of the New Avatar Power Part 3

This is my third and final installment for the Miracle of the New Avatar Power book written by the late Geoff Gray-Cobb. I was going to let the second installment be the last but I felt compelled to discuss this fantastic modern grimoire just a bit further.

One of the things Gray-Cobb included in his grimoire was the ‘Magic Mentor’. This was the author's attempt at bringing a NPE[1] into the waking consciousness of the practitioner. The method is simple yet many modern ceremonial magicKians would sneer at the simplicity believing that creating a NPE like that to be too easy.

Why shouldn’t it be? Frankly, according to the ARS (African Religious Systems), making a spirit actually is more complicated than that, however for purposes of just using Inner World Magic, it works well. Most ARS practitioners know that the spirits created/found on inner plane contacts as preached by organizations like the Golden Dawn to be too simplistic. However for the use of bouncing ideas off someone, this works well enough for our purposes.

There is an affinity here to the Max Freedom Long's Huna system’s Aumakua (re: Ow-mah-koo-ah) or the Higher Self. Long claimed that the Aumakua was simply there and it was already plugged into the all of everything or what he termed the Poe Aumakua (re: Poe-ay-Ow-mah-koo-ah) which Long likened to Carl Jung’s Collective Unconscious.

Gray-Cobb gives ideas on how to use the Magic Mentor and primarily focuses on using it to instruct yourself in Magic. You can use it to help you attain things, do some metaphysical things and so on. To me, this is a lot like my own Thralls where I create these artificial NPE’s to do whatever it is I desire them to do. It is just that Gray-Cobb's Magic Mentor is more complex than a Thrall is.

Central Pillar Ritual

By learning this ritual, Gray-Cobb next gives you a method of how to procure more out of life by invoking planetary intelligences, colors and sounds all through using the Central Pillar Rite.

Frankly, he could have gotten this idea from Israel Regardie’s The Art of True Healing where Regardie suggests using the Middle Pillar ritual with king and queen scale colors via the Golden Dawn to either receive or send energies which also would help you bring items or send assistance to someone else.

Does the Magic Mentor work? Yes it does! Why? It is an artificial construct you give life to then order it to become intelligent by commanding it to go find _ and learn _ then discuss _ with you. Some may think of this as an imaginary friend and is it? Yes and much more than that since It is capable of performing Magic for you.

While not necessary, you can give this Magic Mentor a candle as an offering on a regular basis[2] and tell It that you wish for It to go and learn greater Magic so that It can teach this greater Magic to you. Think of the Magic Mentor as sort of a squire to your knighthood if you will.

Gray-Cobb even tells you how to use a pendulum to communicate with Spirits. I was taught how to do that by the late Enid Hoffman and the late Ron Parshley back in the late 1980's. Using a pendulum to communicate with Spirits is natural and not too much different than using a planchette and Ouija board. You ask the question, wait while being still then allow the pendulum to move of its own accord over a letter/number wheel. Simple. Elegant. Works.

Testing Your NAP

In chapter 5, Gray-Cobb does something very few Metaphysical authors ever do: he teaches you how to test whether your NAP power!

He starts the chapter off talking about using NAP to guess cards, he quickly moves into testing NAP as a way to build self-confidence in that you know it works. Some of the tests he gives are:

Mail Box

Letter Contents

Telephone Caller

News Headline

Playing Card

He gives you a total of 15 tests in all. He gives you some idea of how the test should work and then you put your NAP to the test. You may not guess accurately right away but over time you should develop the ability to guess accurately.

The Radio State test goes something like: you tune your radio to your favorite station then shut it off. Relax. Allow your NAP to bathe you in power and then try to guess the song that will be playing when you turn the radio on.

The better you become is in direct proportion to how often you practice. Each test is a fun challenge and while little more than parlor games, still they do work, allowing you to build self-confidence while strengthening your Occult powers.

In closing I'd like to suggest you try NAP if you have not yet. It's a fun grimoire that offers the earnest practitioner a LOT for the time and effort invested. It is just as powerful as the Key of Solomon is. If you want wealth, riches, mind power, love, sex, influencing others and getting your way in life, this is a great modern grimoire to start with.

Miracle of the New Avatar Power Part 2

For a number of years, I used NAP as it was laid out in the book. Did the rituals precisely the way you’re supposed to and frankly the Central Pillar Rite was no big deal since I’d worked with the Middle Pillar Exercise by Regardie for a number years on my own. I found the CPR to be acceptable and worthwhile to perform as laid out in NAP calling on the various energy personalities.

How I got to summoning more than one Spirit for a project came as a result of my Candle Magic days. I was always a big fan of the involved candle workings as outline by practitioners like Henri Gamache, Buckland and even ol’ Anna Riva. Those rituals, if you study them, are based on using different colored candles with various anointed oils for different aspects of your ritual. Sometimes you want darkness to go away or an astral candle for you and an astral candle for each person involved in your problem.

Upon reflection, one day I realized that very few problems are really all that simplistic. The idea was not to make sorcerous matters complex and it’s foolish to try and attack a problem that has multiple variables to it with old fashioned thinking that a simple dart will hit the target. This is a reason why I think old time candle spells such as those using a single colored candle often fail for people. Their desire is such that there are a lot of factors to overcome.

In the older grimoires, Spirits are often listed with something like one to five specialties. That’s not to say that a Spirit that has one thing attributed to it, such as Marchosias who is a ‘strong fighter’ but that being a strong fighter is Marchosias’ strong point. He can do many other things than simply fight but when it comes to whooping ass, that is His specialty.

Some of the NAP spirits seem to be pigeonholed as well such as Nitika’s specialty is wealth; Elubatel’s is success; and so on. Thus when I was out of work, between apartments and just about broke, I decided an injection of old fashioned sorcery was in store here. Staying at my buddy’s house put me in a bind because I could not set up an altar, burn candles and such. Why? Well for one his wife was an “Attitude Born Again” (meaning she never went to church nor practiced her faith but perish forbid if anyone else had a differing opinion because her attitude changed and she was a ‘Born Again Xian’!) Another problem was my buddy and his family had pets that roamed the house and leaving unattended candles burning was a definite fire hazard.

I opted for using NAP since it did not require any sort of altar, candles, oils or anything other a clear goal and the time to practice.  I needed a job fast and this job couldn't simply be one where I was just earning a check but rather it had to be one where I was getting benefits along with commissions, bonuses and the like. I wanted to be completely out of the financial hole so I decided on calling Elubatel first since I needed SUCCESS at getting employed again.

Thus on a Thursday evening after an intense hot shower, I performed the NAP relaxation ritual to get my mind and body relaxed. (Being tense only stymies your magical abilities) Then I performed the Central Pillar Rite, the Circulation ritual and then the Fountain ritual as laid out in the book and in that order. The relaxation ritual took me about seven minutes to do and the rituals after took me less than five minutes to complete.

Then slowly, clearly I read the incantation for Success which summoned Elubatel. In fact I read it three times in all. Then using my pendulum, I checked to see if the Spirit arrived. Once I was certain Elubatel was there, I spent a few minutes telling Him about my plight, how I got to where I was and my game plan to bring myself out of the depths of despair. I said I needed a job with X, Y & Z which needed to be local, obtainable and who wanted me. I also told Elubatel I may need some help with the hiring process since most likely the place would have tests to pass.

I dismissed Elubatel after I thanked Him for His visit. I promised that once I had my own place, I’d burn a candle in His honor and tell others about Him. Then I decided to summon Nitika (the same way as I did Elubatel) to help me with keeping me financially afloat while I was going through  the job search and hiring process. Nitika was also informed that I would need help negotiating my new salary requirements so as to not leave money on the table. I too promised Nitika the same as I did for Elubatel. Then I shut myself down.

Within three weeks, after many tests, interviews and the like I was employed, on my way to a training center where I was going to be taught the equivalent of a university level course in advertising crammed into just a few short weeks of training. Though the Spirits were there helping me along the way. Mind you this was eight weeks of paid training, full benefits package, some perks and a generous commission structure. The spirits really came through for me!

[One of the reasons many practitioners fail at summoning Spirits is that they’re confused believing they need to do all sorts of shenanigans like memorize everything (though some key parts such as the Incantations to be used are helpful.)  Also, a lot of practitioners desire to physically SEE the Spirits to confirm that they’re not playing make believe. What I usually tell Novices is to suspend belief for a moment then act as if the Spirits actually arrived, standing there (which They actually are even if you cannot see nor feel Them) then simply talk to the Spirits. Tell Them what troubles you and be humble enough in asking for help.]

The first week while job hunting, I was getting all sorts of road blocks from employers with crap like “We prefer people with a bachelor’s degree” and other such nonsense (for a typical, commissioned sales position!) So by adding the General Purpose Invocation the second week, I began to notice these stumbling blocks were being removed.

During the second week of my NAP experiment, I continued to finish with the General Purpose Invocation after the Success and Money Incantations asking the Spirits IAO Petahyah and Opiel for their assistance. This turned out to be an opportunity to have them help me weed through the unfortunate circumstances that often barred me from becoming employed with a desirable company. Such things could be an interviewer doesn't like your hair color, your weight, the style of your clothes, you don’t have a bachelor’s degree or some such thing.

By the third week, I finally got a solid lead with a company selling advertising that paid in the range I desired, was close to home, had paid training, salary plus commission, bonuses, perks and company paid half the benefits. (Impressive. Now to get hired!)

So I summoned Elubatel and told Him of the position, who I would interview with and the like. Later that night, I got a dream from Elubatel telling me to send out thank you cards. Well, in business you don’t send thank you cards for an interview BUT you CAN send a thank you letter. So I typed one up and took it with me. Upon leaving the interview, I asked the manager for one of his business cards and addressed the letter to him, typed up the envelope then mailed it that night at the post office. Needless to say he was impressed and later told me that I was the ONLY ONE out of the one-hundred and three who interviewed for the eight positions to be filled, to send a thank you letter! (Again the Spirits came through for me.)

In the meantime, Nitika saw to it that I was getting money from all sorts of weird and uncanny occurrences such as in one of my books, I found a book that I had used a $50 bill as a bookmark and totally forgot about it begin there. In a couple of other odd instances, one of my relative's friend's needed some skip tracing work done on some of his bad debt receivables; another acquaintance of his paid me to teach him how to better sell for his business. Money was coming steadily to me but nothing like I really wanted. Still Nitika was working overtime helping me stay afloat.

The spirits were really kicking ass for me! I had a great job, was making great money, out of debt, the future looked brighter than ever all thanks to working with Elubatel, Nitika, IAO Petahyah and Opiel.

What did this teach me? That summoning spirits does NOT have to be overly complex and complicated. Yes there are things you must do however with talent you can get spirits to do a lot for you especially spirits like this. I would hazard a guess that the spirits from books like this one, Mannings and Malak's have probably had more exposure to the public than classical grimoires.

I say this because Medieval grimoires were aimed at a certain audience which did not have a large group and even in subsequent years, can we really say that there’s been millions or even thousands of karcists who have summoned these NPE’s?

However Malak's, Manning's and Grey-Cobb's books were aimed at a mainstream, more general metaphysical, new age audience with thousands of copies of these books sold. Plus, some people who worked with these modern grimoire Spirits first eventually went on to study the older Medieval texts.

The Miracle of New Avatar Power

When asked which grimoire a budding Sorcerer should learn and use, more often than not people will point to the Goetia, the first book of the Lemegeton. The reason for this is twofold:

First there is a LOT of material (most of it absolute garbage) written on the Goetia and how to use it. Much of it is contradictory with some groups advocating worshiping the Demons listed in there to oddball temples using their pseudo-Masonic material as a background for the workings.

Second, most lodge magicKians believe it is the most practical of the Medieval grimoires. This too is inaccurate and a misnomer. Frankly, the Clavicles of Solomon tend to be more practical with the seals being made for all things under the nature of the planets. If you want to know how to use the planets in a practical sense, check out Agrippa's "Three Books of Occult Philosophy" which you can read online free at the Twilight Grotto website.

The truth is that these Medieval grimoires offer some help for those who spend hours upon hours of study and if your heart is definitely focused on working with them, then get a copy of Aaron Leitch's "Secrets of the Magical Grimoires" and read through that before you attempt to work the grimoires let alone trying to follow instructions from some website where the owenr may (or most likely) may not know what s/he is talking about.

In the last forty years, there has come to light a few modern grimiores that are pared down (but never watered down) versions of grimoires listing spirits and how to work with them. These books are NOT complicated compared to the Medieval grimoires. Now many people will look at the two and say, "Well obviously the Medieval ones are real because they're old and also because they're complex" which is utter rubbish. So age and complexity is proof that something works in Sorcery? For real?

As a practitioner since 1987, I can tell you that I have worked with grimoires old and new, ancient and modern, complex and simple. And the end result has been? They all work if you know how to make them work.

Enter a little known grimoire from the 1970's that I was first turned onto by my friend Ray at a psychic study group back in the 1980's in Dunedin, FL. My teacher, Ron Parshley, had a copy in his vast library of books and he loaned it to me to study. This book was fascinating because it listed spirits such as Nitika who could give you wealth or Elubatel who could help with success or Gadiel to protect you from evil or Kadriel to help you uncover secret knowledge and so forth.

To give you a better understanding of what 'The Miracle of New Avatar Power' (or NAP for short) can do for you, we should discuss some of the things people have told me about their use of it as well as how I've come to where I have with using it as well...

Right after I got involved in the Occult in the late months of 1987, my brother told me about an old friend of ours named 'Jay' who performed a chant from some book and got money. It seems Jay found a book on the occult, chanted the chant for money then later that week, a city police officer rear ended Jay's car. Jay got $500 in damages (and this was the mid-1970's!) I had my brother call Jay, and we spoke on the phone. Jay told me it was some book like 'The Voltar Powers' and he had trouble remembering it since it had been about fifteen years since he'd read it. He told me he no longer had it because he got rid of it right after all this went down with the cop. When I asked Jay why, he said 'it scared him' presumably it had more to do with the fact that it actually worked and like many, if something is found to actually work, FEAR is the automatic response.

I searched the used bookstores far and wide for a copy of 'The Voltarr Powers' but none such existed. Later, when I met Ray at a psychic study group in Dunedin, FL, he told me about a book of practical magic that involved summoning spirits and it was called 'The Miracle of the New Avatar Power'. At the time, the only book I could find that was even close to this was Al G. Manning's "Miracle of the New Ishtar Power' which had a similar title to NAP so I also thought that Ray had the title mixed up as well (like Jay had) because Ray told me he no longer had a copy of it. I obtained a copy of Manning's book and thought I had found THE book Jay told me about. So I investigated Manning's book right, left, upside, downside forward and backward.

To my delight, Manning's book worked very well though the spirits in there were personal creations aka Thralls that Manning had made and named them after ancient Sumerian and Egyptian deities such as Ra, Bast, Osiris, Thoth, Isis, Nergal, Marduk and of course, Ishtar. Manning's book is a fully, self-contained system that works. I will write more on it later but for now, suffice to say I was delighted later to discover that NAP actually existed and when I spoke with Jay recently, he confirmed that NAP was indeed the book he had found and used.

My first copy of NAP came from a friend of mine and he sent me a bound photocopy of it to experiment with. I was pleased to note that the system is rather simplistic yet not exactly aura based like many of the 70's occult manuals were from the Parker Publishing group. Most of these books were about priming your chakras and channeling that energy into X. Some actually worked with the planets and a few with the Four Elements but most seemed to go along with the seven chakra system of magical development.

I worked with NAP for quite some time, experimenting with the exercises and listing of spirits with their chants. My results were quite fascinating. I discovered that it was best to use several of the spirits together such as to bring me monetary success, I'd invoke Nitika and Elubatel and then ask them to work together in harmony to bring X amount of money to me. Usually such bounties of cash came in the way of new leads in sales or more often than not, referrals from my existing customer base. Once in a while, I'd get a request to help someone magically and they'd give me a nice donation for my efforts.

Here is the NAP ritual that you are supposed to complete (at least once) and as you can plainly see it is a relaxation exercise.

Quietly read the words aloud, listening to what you are saying. Read slowly and carefully, pausing between sentences, and stopping for about three seconds wherever you find three periods (...) in the text. It should take you a full four minutes to read the words aloud from beginning to end.

* "I am beginning the New Avatar Power Ritual. I call on the Inner Planes to witness. I state my purpose thus: ANKAR YOD HAY VAW HAY. I begin to wind down, to let go and be rid of all the tensions of my body. To let my muscles relax, unwind and let go. The tensions are beginning to drain from my body. Soon, a gradual heaviness will start to weigh down my thighs, my arms, my hands, my feet, my legs, my body. My muscles unwind and let go. All my muscles are relaxing, unwinding and relaxing. Very soon I shall feel the unwinding, the letting go. Unwinding and letting go. Unwinding, letting go. Unwinding, letting go. Deeper and deeper... letting go... unwinding and letting go. The tensions drain from my muscles and they will soon become loose, letting go, relaxing and unwinding. Noises round abut me will drift into the background. I shall feel the relaxing, the letting go, the unwinding. Breathing easily and deeply. Easily and deeply. Unwinding and letting go... drifting into the peace and serenity of complete relaxation. And as my body unwinds and relaxes, so I enter the peace and quiet, where only these words have meaning, and nothing else disturbs me. Letting go... unwinding... letting go...unwinding... relax... relax...let go...let go...let go...relax...relax...relax...let go...let go...let go. I call on Thee, Mighty Arzel, who stands in the East, to assiste me in this and all my ventures. I know now that my New Avatar Power is flooding to the surface. * I now close my eyes gently."

Now sit quietly for about two minutes, letting your mind wander as it will, and then open your eyes.

From this point in the Ritual you always begin to perform a spell or other piece of magical working. For easy reference, think of the point where you open your eyes again as "Point A" in the Ritual. I shall be referring to Point A later in this book.

The instructions will say: "Carry out the New Avatar Power Ritual to Point A" and this tells you that you should prepare for the Ritual and say or listen to the words as explained from the initial instructions up to this point.

Also, for the sake of simplicity, from now on I will refer to the New Avatar Power by its initials-NAP. Wherever y ou find "NAP" in the text, you will understand that this refers to New Avatar Power.

Notes On The NAP Ritual

1. If you own a tape recorder, you can make a tape of the above Ritual words, between the asterisks, from * to * After recording the words, let the tape run silently for a further 10 minutes, so that when you replay the tape, the Ritual words are followed by 10 minutes of silence.

Then instead of reading the words to yourself each day, you can start the tape recording speaking to you as you sit in the dim. In that event, you can dispense with the reading lamp shining over your shoulder, and you can listen to the whole of this part of the Ritual with your eyes closed. You will, however, need the lamp later for reading spells.

When the tape reaches the Words of Power "ANKAR YOD HAY VAW HAY" (which, like all other Words of Power in this book, is pronounced exactly as it is spelled), say the Words aloud, and near the ned of the tape, begin sayign th words aloud from "I call on Thee..." through to Point A of the Ritual.

2. You should carry out the Ritual daily for best results; 15 minutes is the maximum you need for the Ritual and the magical workings that follow it. Try to make yourslef a present of that daily quarter-hour -- it will be the most stupendously valuable present you have ever given yourself. If your day is really packed tight with things to do, set your alarm clock for 15 minutes earlier, so that your first action of the day is to carry out your New Avatar Power Ritual and a magical working.

Thus begins the work to perform before you begin to work with NAP. After this there are a couple of other simple, easy rites you're supposed to use. These are:

1. Central Pillar Ritual
2. New Avatar Power Circular Ritual
3. New Avatar Fountain Ritual

When you read the Central Pillar Ritual, you quickly discover it is the old Middle Pillar Ritual of the Golden Dawn (or at least the late Israel Regardie). The power circular ritual is nothing more than swirlign the energy from Malkuth to Kether & back down again or from your feet to the top of your head & back down again. Finally the Fountain Ritual is about bringing that energy from your Malkuth shooting up through your body out of the top of your head like a water fountain. The idea here is to learn to channel energy throughout your body & then get it active by moving it around.

After this, then you can use the various incantations such as the following for Nitika:

"In the Power of the Names EH-HEH-YEH, YEH-HO-VO-EL-OH-HEEM, and YEH-HO-VO-AH-VAY-DAH-AHS I place this Invocation with Thee, NEE-TEE-KAH, Genius of Wealth. Know that I require and command Thee to bring me gold. Thou has dominion over wealth and Thou shalt bring this very instant to shape the future such that money shall come to me, enough and to spare, by the powers of these Words and Invocation. Be Thou ruled by me in the Names SHAH-DYE-ELL-KYE and AH-DOE-NYE-HA-AH-RETZ. So mote it be."

[I have taken the liberty of giving you the phonetic pronunciations of the names]

Once you have spoken the incantation aloud, you simply tell the Spirit what it is you desire. I often repeat these incantations three times and vibrate the names as Israel Regardie suggested you do. This seemed to impact the ritual in a much stronger way thus I stuck to what works.

To dismiss, I'd simply thank the Spirit in a normal, everyday language sort of way & offer to give them a candle, some food & drink at a specified later time. (Unpaid Spirits can cause all sorts of havoc in your life and yes many of the Spirits will NOT say anything about payment)

Next blod I'll discuss more about this modern grimoire.
